Giving Back

Returning to the infusion center felt like stepping back in time, but this visit was different. Instead of being a patient, I walked through those doors with a purpose: to bring comfort and smiles to kids currently undergoing treatment.
The infusion center holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I faced some of my toughest battles, but it’s also where I discovered strength, resilience, and the power of a simple act of kindness. During my visit, I met kids who reminded me so much of myself — brave little warriors fighting battles they never asked for.
To brighten their day, I brought along stuffed animals to give away. These weren’t just toys; they were little symbols of hope and love. Seeing the smiles spread across their faces as they hugged their new companions was incredibly heartwarming. For a moment, the beeping of monitors and the hum of IV pumps faded into the background, replaced by laughter and joy.
I shared stories of my journey, letting them know they’re not alone and that brighter days are ahead. It was important for me to show them that someone who had once sat in their place made it through and is now here to cheer them on.
Leaving the infusion center that day, I felt a profound sense of gratitude — for the journey that shaped me and for the opportunity to give back. My hope is that those stuffed animals and the stories I shared provide a little extra courage and comfort to the kids as they continue their own journeys. Sometimes, it’s the smallest gestures that make the biggest difference.
