At Kids With Crohn’s, we’re driven by a mission to raise awareness, provide support, and secure resources for children and families navigating the challenges of Crohn’s disease. Advocacy has always been at the heart of this mission, and I’m thrilled to share an update about a promising partnership with Tyler August, a dedicated member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.
Over the past few months, Tyler and I have been in contact to discuss the pressing need for increased state-level funding for Crohn’s-related initiatives. As someone living with Crohn’s disease, I know how difficult it can be to access the right care and resources. Tyler has shown genuine interest in understanding the challenges faced by the Crohn’s community and exploring how state support can help improve lives.
Our conversations have centered around several key areas where funding can make the biggest impact. First, there’s a significant need to support research efforts aimed at advancing our understanding of Crohn’s disease and developing more effective treatments. Innovation in this area has the potential to drastically improve outcomes for children and families.
We’ve also discussed how funding could improve access to specialized care, particularly for underserved communities. Too often, families face long waits, limited options, or financial barriers when seeking the care they need. By addressing these gaps, we can ensure that more families receive timely and comprehensive treatment.
Finally, Tyler and I have talked about the importance of funding programs that provide emotional and educational support for children with Crohn’s and their families. Living with Crohn’s is more than just a medical challenge; it’s a mental and emotional journey, too. Expanding these support systems would be a lifeline for so many.
This partnership with Tyler August represents a significant step forward for Kids With Crohn’s and our advocacy efforts. It’s inspiring to see a policymaker take an active interest in this cause and work toward creating meaningful change at the state level.
I am optimistic about the progress we can achieve together. Advocacy takes time, effort, and collaboration, but I believe that by working with leaders like Tyler, we can make a real difference. My hope is that these efforts will not only secure much-needed funding but also shine a light on the resilience of children with Crohn’s and their families.
Thank you for supporting Kids With Crohn’s and for joining us on this journey to create a brighter future for all those affected by Crohn’s disease. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
